Sunday night I met Scott, Sean, and some of our buddies at Merryfield's to watch the football games and drink cheap pitchers of beer and half priced wings and pizza. Heather was our server. We had a great time but I ate and drank too much, again. I do great during the week but when the weekend comes, I seem to lose the eating battle.
Moving on to better things, how about some contests where you can win some cool stuff? I love winning cool stuff. Hey, I just love winning. Anything. Really. Have a contest for dust bunnies? I'm there. Anywho, Jeannie over at Jeannie's Happy World is holding a contest. She's giving away a copy of her "Lose Weight-Feel Great" cookbook on CD to three lucky people. Considering how badly I
Diana, Cheryl, and Sheila over at 3 Scrap Booking Ladies are holding their Thankful 4 Fall Giveaway where someone is going to win a ton of scrap booking goodies. I sure hope it's me cause I want to make a scrap book for my mom for Christmas. She deserves the best and what these gals offer is definitely the best. I don't get any extra entries for blogging about the contest so I am going for any bonus "brown-nose" entries that might be available. For more details, click on the widget in my sidebar or just click here.
Heather and her boyfriend, Aaron
Finally, last night Heather asked me when I was going to get the oil company to come look at our heater. It's probably 35 years old and just recently started to barely blow any heat. Well, I haven't paid the oil bill yet so I told her I wasn't going to ask them to come take a look at it until the bill was paid. And considering it's over $350 and I am two months behind with AT&T, my paycheck on Thursday was not going to cover them both. She handed me $200 and said, "Here's $200. Pay the bill and get them out here. " I told her thanks but she didn't have to give me money. She replied, "Well, I live here too. I can help out." I hadn't asked her for any money yet because she's just started working and I wanted to make sure she had money for the holidays. It warmed my heart to think that she would offer me that money without even having to ask for it. I guess I must have done something right while I was raising her.

Cool beans!!! Thank you so much for helping me promote this contest!!!!! Best of luck to you honey!
Jeannie - Glad to help out (even though it means more contestants and competition) because I'm that kind of guy. (anybody choking yet?) Plus I wanted those extra 5 entries! And anyone who says "Cool Beans" is all right in my book. I say it all the time!
Sounds like a very good daughter, and she's also very beautiful. Yes you did something right.
Hi Preston,
This is a very homey site and well designed and laid out too. Take it easy on the weekend binging on food, that could ruin what you worked for all week!
That post about proposition 8 is embarrassing, and I can't believe it happened. It's a crazy world really. Take care. :-) --Durano, done!
Old Lady Lincoln - She sure is a good daughter. I'm a lucky dad.
Durano - Thanks for your compliments on my blog. And yes, the weekend food ruins my efforts during the week. It's the booze that makes me hungry. I gotta cut it out for a little, just until I have lost some of this extra weight!
Love your blog, and your daughter is beautiful!
Thanks so much for entering our Scrapbook Kit Giveaway contest, and for the link AND blog post! That really is cool of you, and the 3 of us totally appreciate you helping to spread the word!
Good luck!!

Cherscrap23 - Cool beans and happy to help out. Your scrap booking supplies are awesome!
Preston, you cracked me up with that 'dust bunnies' thing. :o) You have a beautiful daughter and like I've said before, you did a great job raising her. I hope my daughter will grow up like her, kind and thoughtful. She's 9 so I'm getting ready for the teen years.
Babette - I'm glad I crack you up. Thanks for the compliments regarding my daughter...and the teen years can be scary. My daughter grew fangs and talons during those years so I suggest you prepare for the worst. If it doesn't happen you will be relieved and if it does, you'll be prepared...
Maybe I will set up a contest for dust bunnies :).
Your daughter is beautiful! And she sounds like a kind and caring person too. You obviously "did good."
have fun at the trade show....stoppin by from SITS to say HI!
I knew there was a good reason I had kids. Too bad I have to wait 15 years before they can help out with some bills. I should have started earlier.
Hey,
This is Steven from Green Dads, check out our latest contest at Book Dads.
Anne - I'll look for your dust bunny contest and thanks for your nice comments regarding my daughter.
Leslie - I don't post spam comments.
Georgie - SITS are always welcome and I had a great time at the Trade Show in NYC.
Dad to Two - Uh, you have to wait longer than that. My daughter is going to be 29 on Nov 24th.
Book Dads - I love your contest and the book titles are the best. Everyone run to his blog and enter the contest now.
For your sake, I will consider hosting a contest for dust bunnies lol. You sure did a good job of raising your daughter. I can tell from this post, and also from the post where that idiot woman asked her who she voted for. Hope you enjoy the rest of your week!!
Tamicks - You are the second blogger to offer a contest for dust bunnies. All I have to say is there better be some darn cute ones! And thanks for the compliments regarding my daughter.
