Mrs. Tattooed Minivan Mom over at "The Scattered Mind of a Tattooed Minivan Mom" is holding a guest blogger party today where participating bloggers get their spouses or loved ones to write a guest post for their blog. Since I have neither, I asked my good friend and all around fag hag, Linda, to write a guest post for me. I gave her no instructions except that she could write about whatever she wanted to write about.
Hello all. I’m Preston’s friend Linda and this is my first attempt at blogging. I am rarely at a lack for something to say but I must say that I find staring at a blank page quite daunting. Kudos to everyone out there in Blog-land who regularly provide the rest of us with food for thought.
As soon as Preston asked me to be his guest blogger I’ve wanted to write about our friendship.
Preston and I met 12 years ago tomorrow and from the moment we met I knew that we would be great friends. There was an immediate connection and the bond between us has only grown stronger as time has passed.
I have often referred to Preston as “the gay male me.” We are both expressive, artistic, and a bit eccentric. We both grew up with many personal challenges and have raised children by ourselves. Preston is the only person in the world I can tell EVERYTHING! I trust him and respect him more than anyone. He also teases and insults me more than anyone (his nickname for me is “Evil”) but I guess that’s true friendship.
My daughter often suggests that Preston and I will wind up together in our old age and although there is certainly no romance between us, I can think of no one I’d rather rock my way into the sunset with than my best friend.
May you all be so lucky as to have one such friend in your life.

My Blog Has Moved
Well folks, I've finally done it. I've switched to WordPress and my blog is now on my own domain. So say good-bye to Blogger and good-bye to the bling. But don't be sad. Life is full of change. Change is a good thing. It keeps us on our toes. It challanges us and makes us stronger. And as your next President... oops, I got a little speechy there, didn't I?
Anyway, check me out at:

I'll look for you there.

Well Linda, how sweet is that. Great friendship to be lasting 12 years and still going!
Fag hag. OMG ROTFLMAO!!! I love it.
Hi Linda!
We've seen pictures of you and tales about you....it's nice to *meet* you finally!!
Preston is awesome and loved by many!! Thanks for posting today!
Linda ( & Preston),
What a nice post! It is very evident that you are a great friend to Preston and he to you:-) You are both so fortunate to have a friendship like that. May you enjoy many more fun and exciting years together :-)
Welcome and good Blog. What great friends you are - you're lucky to have each other. Good friends are hard to come by.
We all need friends that we can tell everything to. And that we can call bad names. Out of love :-)
Hey Preston. I was reading our local paper last night and the movie critic listed Milk as No. 4 for best films of 2008. Just got all excited about and thought of you.
Hi Linda!
It's so nice to meet a friend of Preston's! I totally know what you're talking about when you meet someone and the friendship just clicks naturally.
And did he really call you a "fag, hag"?
See, that's the sign of a true friendship...when you can mess with each other in good fun.
Aren't friends the best?! I don't know what I would do without my bff - she lets me keep it real. Always.
Great post Linda!
Well, you're a fag hag extraordinaire indeed. Your love for Preston is seared on every word of your wonderful post. Preston may not have a partner now, but he's got wonderful "evil" friend. And that counts for something, right? :)
What a great post. It's nice to have true friends.
Yay for you! So happy you took up the challenge and did it so well.
Best friends make for the longest lasting relationships, so I think your daughter may be on to something!
I'm new here, came from TMM and I'm so glad I did. I love your post about friendship...it's rare to find a friendship like the two of you have! I'll be back to read more!
Hi Linda and Preston, you are so lucky to have found each other. It is so rare to find someone you can share all your thoughts, secrets and what not.
What a wonderful friendship!
Here is to rocking into the sunset with a god friend.
Never underestimate a great friend!
To all the commenters: This is really Linda's post so I am not going to leave individual responses. I did want to say thank you for all your very kind comments to me and Linda. She's a dear friend and I DID NOT bribe her to write that post, contrary to popular opnion. She had an opportunity to read most of your comments before she headed off on a business trip and she really got a big kick out of all of them.
Sounds like a wonderful friendship....I wish I was someone's fag hag....sigh ;)
That is so sweet! I'm glad you both have such a strong friendship.
That sunset line was the best!
Linda your post about Preston is amazing. I think it either makes us all crave such a friendship or think about our own in a light of gratitude. Thank you so much for helping add a positive thought to the day.
Wow! She made me wish I had a friend like you! Such nice things to say! :)
Ha! I finally made it over here!
Awww, that was so nice. It's great that you two have such an awesome relationship. Good job on your guest post!
