Here is me, my ex-wife Janine, and Heather. It's December 1979. Janine and I are both 19 and Heather is one month old. You can see that I am going through my "don't I look like Jesus" stage.
It's now Easter 1983 and I'm 22 and Heather is 3 1/2. Check out Heather's cute bonnet and purse. It pays to have a gay Daddy when you want to dress up for the holidays. Note the BIG eyeglasses adn the Avon necklace that I am wearing. And yes, that is an original Atari system under that TV.
Summer 1983, I'm 23 and I can only say that I must have been doing drugs heavily. For some reason I thought that getting a perm would be cool. I am standing here in Chip's BP overalls zipped down all the way because he thought I looked sexy in them. I look like a 1970's porno star. Thank goodness I got rid of that perm fast.
It's Christmas 1984. I'm 24, Chip is 22, and Heather (in the corner) has just turned 5. You can't see it but I have the "closely cropped shadow beard" that was sorta popular. Do you like the flourescent green shirt with the yellow suspenders?
It's now March 1985 and the 80's are in full swing. No more glasses cause I had contacts. Note the pleather pants and matching pink, glow-in-the dark tie and belt. The picture in the upper corner was the first picture I ever painted. And yes, I dressed like this at work, too.
Halloween 1987 and most people at work didn't even recognize me when I came in. It's still the 80's and that's why that outfit has shoulder pads and a bow in the hair. Not bad legs, either.
Well since I was reminiscing over some old pictures for my Merry SITSmas post, I thought it would be fun to look at some more pics. I hope you got as much a kick out of these as I did.

These pictures are so much fun. I enjoyed looking at them and reminiscing about my own poor 80's fashion choices. of course, the little girl outfits are adorable no matter the era. You brought back some 80's memories for me. I think I will go now to listen to some Frankie Goes to Hollywood.
Those are wonderful pictures - and I remember all those fashions because I was born in '62, and the 80s were my supposed heyday (whatever a heyday means, anyway).
Anne - Ah crazy 80's fashions! But we thought we looked good at the time. And after you listen to "Relax, don't do it" you should put "Wake me up before you go go" on the turntable!
Lidian - Girl I am two years old than you. I loved the 80's.
OMG! This was too much fun. I love the 80s :o)
Those are great!!!! Pictures of fashion flackbacks always make me laugh!!!! Love the Jesus Christ Superstar look the best...
And I'll agree - what nice legs!! :-)
Wow--those are fun pics! You are definitely channeling the Bee Gees in that Easter pic and maybe the Village People in the following one. Plus you are rockin' the pleather!! Your daughter is so cute!
The one of you I have titled 'HOT LEGS' is frighteningly familiar to my 'corporate' work attire in the early 90's. I suspect we are twins of a different mother!
Ivanhoe - I loved the 80's too! Big hair and all!
Rebeca Jo - I love old pictures and yes, it's more like a Jesus Christ Superstar look, I agree.
Jennifer - Very funny. Didn't make the Bee Gee's connection but you are spot on. And oh, I did own some Village People albums and 8-tracks!
OMgosh, thank you so much for commenting on my blog so I could make it over here!
I so wish you were around in October for my 80's post. I had everyone link up and post their favorite 90's stuff. I did have to leave out most of my photo's with all my cool outfits cause I was so sloshed in them and my parents read my blog!! lol But my friends often laugh that most of my sentences about the 80's start with "I was so drunk...".
Here is a link to my post on 80's(I wish I still had the hot picture of me in my florencent green sweatsuit dress) http://wheresmyangels.blogspot.com/2008/10/we-were-80s.html
Your post was so funy, love it. Now um that Chips outfit, hmmmmmmmmmm, there are just not words for it.
I was big into drama and most of my male friends in the 80's were gay. Actually I'll take that back, more like all of them. If you look at my 80's post you'll see a pic of me and three guys, they are all married and all still lying to their selves!! lol but they aren't foolin me ;)
I didn't leave my parents home with any of my big glasses 80's and 80's pictures. Thank goodness for contacts that I could afford back then. Wish I could still afford them. Oh wait, my parents were buying them then.
Mongolian Girl - That is too funny. I bought the outfit in the mall, of all places. The sales girl was very helpful. Did you have the bow in your hair too?
Wheresmyangels - I am so glad you stopped by here. I didn't include the picture of me in the Michael Jackson thriller jacket and black parachute pants with red zippers! I am going to check your 80's post now!
Great pics and great legs ;) Nobody at work recognized me when I showed up in drag a few years ago.
Aren't old photos a trip? I still have a bunch scanned but not cropped/enhanced. I just ran out of time to do it. I may occasionally post one or two just for the heck of it.
Oh mygosh, I forgot about the guy in the bathroom with me. I wanted to marry him, but I cheated on him when he was in boot camp. He too is married but I have always figured he is bisexual, or afraid to come out as he is a lifer in the military!
I really don't think I knew many straight men, still don't. I work with adults with disbilities and most of the males I work with are also gay. lol My husband also works same place, in fact we got together at a gay club, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
lol Actually my friends and I got him so drunk he didn't know where he was going, then he kept going when he found out lots of straight chics went there with their gay friends. Well at least that is what I tell myself!
Dave - OMG! You went to work in drag? I must see that photo! You have to post it now that you've let the cat out of the bag!
Wheresmyangels - Girl, you are way too funny for someone who used to have big 80's hair. That is so funny about how you met your husband. I had straight couples that use to go to the gay bars with me because they didn't have to worry about people trying to pick them up. And that blond ended up going into the military. Wowsa again.
Okay, if you *hadn't* have mentioned you live in NJ, I totally would've guessed that as soon as I saw the perm.
Seriously - back in the 80s when I was in high school, the salon I went to was always full of guys getting perms. I grew up thinking that was totally normal, a guy getting a perm, and then I left NJ for college in NY and realized how very wrong I was. Perms on men are never a good idea - I mean, look at poor Mr. Brady for crying out loud! Hee!
Anyhow, that was another fun photo trip down memory lane, thanks for sharing it! (And your legs TOTALLY rocked in that Halloween shot, woo!)
Cheers from a former Jersey Girl!
Heather - You know Jersyites do things differently from the rest of the USA. Glad you liked the photos and how lucky you were to get out of NJ!
HOLY!!!! This is the coolest post ever posted anywhere!
My FAV is the pleather pants.....and my dad had the same perm.
Thanks for sharing!!

Erin, Nick and Merrick - I'm glad you think my post is cool but your dad had the same haircut? Dad??? I'm that old? Yikes... (I loved my pleather pants.)
I am about the same age as your daugher! : )
How OLD do you think I am! ; )
Who knows what all I put in my hair back then. I must say, I think you carried the whole thing off much better than I did.
Erin, Nick and Merrick - You actually look younger than that but having a married adult with child tell me that I looked like their dad is a tough pill to swallow. LOL
Oh. My. Gosh.
This was a great post. Thanks for showing us a peek at your past. Those are some FAB pix. You are brave. Very brave. LOL
I think my fave by far is the porn pic!
LOL- did the math, your daugher is OLDER than me ; )
Oh Preston, you are beautiful! and those legs, woohoo! You are funny, I love that "don't I look like Jesus" stage. LOL
Mongoliangirl - If I did it better than you it was only because I only did it once a year! LOL
Aubrey - My coworkers laughed hysterically at the "porn" pic. Hmmmm...but hey, I thought I was hot back then...
Erin, Nick and Merrick - That's right. Go ahead and rub salt into the wound. Sniff...
Babette - Yes, those legs caused quite a stir at work. In fact, a young guy I worked with told me he he couldn't look at me any longer cause my legs looked too good. Haha! It was so funny.
This is too funny! One day I'm going to have to put together a post like this. And I agree - nice legs!
Angie - I'm glad you think it's funny and please, if you do a post like this, let me know. I'd LOVE to see it!
I like the pink tie....:-)
The pleather pants are CLASSIC!!! And the shadow beard is so Kenny Loggins of you. Now I've got Footloose in my head. "Footloose...footloose...kick of those Sunday shoes..."
Bingkee - I LOVED that pink tie especially when paired with the pink belt.
Heather - I thought I was the sexiest thing in those pleather pants. And now that you mention it, the shadow beard is soooo Kenny Loggins. LOL
OMG! These photos are hilarious. I especially like the Halloween outfit. Work it! LOL I am so glad that I met you!
Renee - I'm so glad you like the photos and what makes the Halloween picture (I think) is the face that I'm making. It still cracks me up. And I'm glad I met you too. :)
Thanks for taking us with you down memory lane. I enjoyed all your pictures but am feeling a little bit sad that you have better gams than me. ;)
Linh - Puhleeze, that was 21 years ago! And your gams look pretty good in your ELF VIDEO!
Preston, I love your new avatar, it's so Christmassy (is that even a word? LOL) whatever, you know what I mean. :o)
Babette - Thanks, I love the avatar too. I think it's retro cool and perfect for a gay guy. It doesn't scream "Big Fag" too much, does it? LMFAO
Preston ... that last picture is so sexy!! LOL!!!!
Oh Tamick's, that is such a cheeky pose and face I'm making. LOL
Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!
no offense.
You crack me up Preston. I bet you 10 bucks that you still own those pants don't you?
Was showing the "happy trail" IN, in 1983?
and Atari rocked by the way. I was a frogger junkie. Mos def.
Love those pictures!! You are so funny :) Thanks for sharing :)
Oh Preston, I'm so sorry to see that Skank Heather has found your blog!
Tell her to stop doing weird things to that George Clooney photo that is suppose to be mine.
Oh, somehow I missed your Michael Jackson zipper jacket and parasuit pants comment. Thank goodness I NEVER EVER wore those things but my best friend did. WE went to the Victory Tour together. Remember when Michael and his brothers toured. Michael freaking sent someone up to give her passes to get up close to the stage while I got left behind in the far back. She is now a Trophy wife with a new set of boobs, I'm pretty sure her 4th husband has never seen those pictures of her dressed like Micheal! lol
Wheresmyangels - OMG! You are such a comment whore. (You know I say that lovingly) And I can't call Heather a Skank because she's not the only one to do weird things to George Clooney's photo. (I refuse to comment further)
I have no pictures of me in that Michael Jackson Thriller outfit, and I am so greatful for it. At least I never saw him in concert though.
Heather is soooo cute, and you are . . . a man of many looks. As Tim Gunn might say, "A LOT of look."
Love the pleather pants, but I think the zipped-down jumpsuit is my favorite. Only because it's paired with a permed mullet.
JD at I Do Things
JD - Yes, nothing says the 80's better than a permed mullet! Yikes!
